The
goal of the Public Service Language Centre is to offer the most
effective methods of acquiring and improving one's language skills. The
PSLC tailors its courses to the needs of different professional
sectors. The key clients of PSLC are different government sectors and
private organisations representing various professional fields. The
PSLC staff is highly qualified and professional. Instructors actively
take part in developing new training programs for general and
professional purposes at different proficiency levels. These programs
have been accredited by Latvian Ministry of Education and Science. PSLC
instructors also have designed new training modules and teaching
materials, now widely used among foreign language professionals. PSLC
has participated in Leonardo da Vinci and Lingua projects which have
led to the development of five European Language Portfolios.

Primary
School Of Palekastro is located in the northeastern Crete,
at
Palekastro, the
capital of Itanos Municipality,
with pupils from 6 to12 years old,
general education. The School is a part of the working group of the
Greek Schools Network that makes research on the application of best
practices in the use of new technologies.
The school has a fully equipped computer room with wide band connection
providing also training for other teachers coming from other local
schools. The computer room is also used for training course for long
life learning training citizens and local entrepreneurs. The staff
participates every year in different training courses at national level
in Athens and it has been involved in Comenius projects. Two
projects
are
completed and one is running. ’’Energy and Environment’’ ,
2003-2005,
’’The
Culture of Tradiotional Food’’, 2005-2007
and ’’Caleidoscope’’,
2007-2009. Primary School of Palekastro participated also in a Minerva
Project: ’’Applying IT Mobile Education On Schools(AITMES)’’,
2005-2007 and in many different European Projects.

WYŻSZA
SZKOŁA INFORMATYKI W ŁODZI, POLAND - the College of Computer Science in
Lodz is a private Higher Education Institution, which operates
according to the rules and regulations of the Law concerning Higher
Education from 12th September 1990. The College of Computer Science was
approved and validated by the Ministry of Education and Sports and
entered the Register of the Non-State Owned Higher Education
Institutions at number 108 in 1997.
It is one of the biggest
independent Higher Education Institutions in central Poland, which
educates and trains around 5500 students in Łodź and in three divisions
in Bydgoszcz, Włocławek and Opatówek. Its students have the possibility
to obtain both bachelor and master degree in the fields of Computer
Science, Computer Science and Econometrics, Pedagogy and Educational
Studies, Computer Artistic Graphics, Economy (Business Studies),
Physical Education, Interior Architecture (new) and Physiotherapy
(new). In the academic year 2006/2007 WSINF introduced e-learning
providing M.A. studies in IT (Computer Science) on-line.

Faculty of Education and Psychology is the second largest of 13
faculties of the University of Latvia. Faculty of Education and
Psychology is a leading academic institution in pedagogy, psychology
and education management. It is offering 34 full-time and part-time
study programs for 3900 students in bachelor (3 years), integrated
professional (4 years), master (2 years)and doctoral programs (3
years). There are 123 staff members employed on regular basis.

ECET
is the biggest extra-curricular training provider in Bulgaria with 53
training centres (Europe Schools for Languages and Managemet) in 45
towns. Its activities include developing and implementing language
training programmes, vocational courses, IT, computer and management
training. ECET is a member of ICC - The European Language Network and
Lingu@net Europa transnational networks. Awarded a European Language
Label in 2004. ECET runs the only educational TV channel in Bulgaria ,
ECET TV, and is a producer of the award winning Lingua Consult TV

European Language Portfolio for adults and vocational purposes.

Akademi is a 100 % private
Engineering Education and Consultancy
enterprise having its office in Mugla which is a tourism city on the
south west of Turkey. Akademi has engineering facilities on electrical
installations and distributions, renewable energy and energy efficiency
areas. As education activities, technical training of university
students, vocational courses, IT and computer training are organized.
It also provides consultancy to SME's, non profit organizations and
state institutions in the region for Research and Development, transfer
of technology activities and national and EU supported grant projects.
For the dissemination activities it gives supports to establishment of
relations between the instuitions.

Pixel’s
mission is to promote an innovative approach to education, training and
culture, this is done mostly by trying to exploit the best potential of
ICT for education and training.
Pixel has developed strong co-operation and partnerships, all over
Europe, with training organisations, educational establishments,
research and development centres, public authorities etc.
Pixel has significant experience in the field of European cooperation
and transnational collaboration. Pixel has been / is currently involved
in about 40 projects financed by the European Commission in the
framework of the following programmes: Socrates ODL; Socrates Minerva;
Socrates Grundtvig; Socrates Lingua; Socrates Comenius; Leonardo da
Vinci; eLearning; Lifelong Learning.
Of those projects: 14 were developed in the field of teachers’
training; 8 were developed on the field of language learning; 6 focused
on research on education and training; 6 were developed in
the field
of training for youth; 3 were developed in the social field; 2 were
developed in the field of in-company training.
Pixel has coordinated / is coordinating over 40 training projects at
regional level, funded by the European Social Fund.
Of those projects: 22 were developed in the field of in-company
training; 10 were developed in the field of training for
youth to
support their entrance in the labour market; 8 were developed on the
field of equal opportunities.
Pixel is accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education with
legislative act of 25/7/2006. Also, its quality system was
certified
compliance with the standard UNI EN ISO 9001:2000.

The
ICC - International Certificate Conference e.V. is an international
association with local impact representing the field of language
learning and teaching. ICC is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) with
participatory status at the Council of Europe. The ICC, known as The
European Language Network
is a not-for-profit-organisation bringing together people actively
involved in foreign language teaching and providing them with a forum
for exchange. At the moment, 46 educational organisations in 18
European countries are members of the ICC. The ICC sets standards for a
transnational network of language teachers, promotes quality in foreign
language learning and teaching by certifying progress and achievement
in language acquisition, certifying teachers' competence to teach,
offering guidelines for the evaluation of teaching institutions, and
providing criteria for the evaluation of teaching materials and courses.
The ICC has been involved in the development of ELPs.
