Listening for details of content/ listening for specific details

FOOD

Problem :

Segmentation – not being able to hear the sounds of the language as sequence of words.

Phrases:

  • seafood and salads
  • protein foods
  • a deficiency in folic acid
  • tiredness and depression
  • heightens intelligence


  1. Students click on the phrase and listen to it.
  2. Students click on the numbers of sentences and listen again to the sentences with the phrases from the listening task.
  3. Students go back to the listening task and listen to it again.
  4. Students listen to the task while reading the tapescript.
  5. Students have another listening task (listening for specific details) about food with similar phrases which may cause segmentation.
