Spoken interaction for agreement or disagreement

ON HOLIDAYS

Problem :

Discourse organisation - not able to put sentences into a well-formed discourse.

  1. Teacher will tell the student to reconsider his/her statement
  2. Student will write down his statement and make considerations about its status
  3. Teacher will give the student a feedback and suggest some strategies to deal with the problems encountered.
  4. E.g.:
    • Make short sentences
    • Give a reason why you agree or disagree with someone else’s view.
    • Provide students with some expressions which refere to agreement/disagreement:

  3. Absolutely!
  4. I agree with your point.

  1. I am not so sure.

  3. Well, it depends.
  4. I'm not so certain.
  5. Well, I don't know.
  6. Well, I'm not so sure about that.
  7. Hmm, I'm not sure you're right.
  8. I'm inclined to disagree with that.
  9. No, I don't think so.
