ON HOLIDAYS

TASK 1

Listen to the dialogue about two friends on holiday in Barcelona (Spain). When the recording stops, the teacher will ask two students to take a look at the city map and continue the discussion. The main goal in this conversation is to find the best and fastest way back to the hotel. You will negotiate a common solution together with your partner.

John: Good riddance! We will be off work for the next few days.
Paul: Yes, you are right. Shall we go somewhere out of town?
John: Well, that is a good idea. Do you have any idea about the destination?
Paul: Why don’t we go to Rome? It takes only 2 hours train trip.
John: I’d rather visit a smaller town in the countryside.
Paul: Then we could go to Volterra. It’s a medieval town in central Tuscany.
John: I have already been there. What about S. Gimignano?
