RUSHING BACK HOME
TASK 1
Work in pairs. Your teacher will give you some guidelines in order to make a dialogue. You will discuss your proposals with your partner, but without writing them. You have to stick to the guidelines and provide as much information as possible.
GUIDELINES
2 interlocutors: A (female) and B (male);
Setting: Railway station
A bumps into B while rushing to his/her train.
A hastily excuses herself and turns away.
While A is striding along, a few belongings drop from her bag; B comes running to pick them up.
A stops to collect her things and starts talking to B.
A explains why she had to rush to the train back home;
B finds out that they live in the same neighbourhood and suggests they can wait for the next train together.
A agrees and proposes to go to the nearest bar and have something while waiting.
A starts talking about herself and her family she lives with.
Then B gives some information about himself, among which that he is 28 years old and lives on his own.
A says she likes the opera very much and that she is going to the town’s central opera theatre to see a very famous play.
B says he is not a big opera fan, although he would not mind seeing a play.
A asks B to go to the play together and B accepts.
