Spoken Interaction for agreement and disagreement

AT THE WEEKEND

TASK 1

Listen to the dialogue between two friends who have to decide about the organization of a birthday party. At some point the recording stops and the teacher will ask two students to go on with the conversation and find an agreement. You will negotiate a common solution together with your partner, using the likes/dislikes chart below.

Mike: So, Richard we have to celebrate Lucy's birthday next week!
Richard: Yes, you are right. I had almost forgot about it.
Mike: I think we could throw a party.
Richard: Why not? But where? I cannot host because my parents are at home all the time.
Mike: We can invite people to come to my place.
Richard: Isn't your apartment a little too small?
Mike: I don't think so. We will invite 10 people or so...
